And that’s why this spring Allan Delsaut, DD, attended a special lecture of interest to all practising denturists on ethics, jurisprudence and record keeping with Professor Evie Jesin, RRDH, B.Sc.,
The 10-hour workshop covered a number of key elements in every denture practice including:
Pertinent legislation that relates to denturists (the RHPA, 1991, the Denturist Act, 1991,) and the consent to treatment legislation.
A review of professional misconduct regulations and guidelines for denturists including sexual abuse prevention and mandatory reporting
Case scenarios to provide greater clarity to presentations on ethical obligations.
Under the general category for practice advisory tips for denturist, there was a review of the new requirements for premedication.
Each denturist left with a USB key filled with suggested forms and templates for office use. Not only did the presenter Evie Jesin, cover bullet proofing every denture practise with comprehensive record keeping, but provided the practicing denturist with a reflective analysis for a self-review of their own practice.
As a registered restorative dental hygienist with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, Evie Jesin has been involved in the legislative sector as a Council member on the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, the transitional Council for the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. She is well known in the dental community as an educator and has been a lecturer in the School of Dental Health at George Brown College for over 39 years.
Keeping his practise current and safe for both his patients and his staff has always been a priority for Allan. A member of the Denturists of Ontario, he attends as many conventions and courses so he can to better serve the Sudbury area.
